Canadian Union of Sport Karate
Our Purpose
The purpose of the CUSK Sport Karate Team is to provide athletes with a structured and supportive pathway to develop their competitive sport karate abilities while promoting the values of martial arts and sport.
The team shall:
Provide athletes with opportunities to train, compete, and challenge themselves at local, provincial, national, and international levels.
Promote excellence and a positive winning culture, while recognizing that success includes personal development, teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Promote lifelong participation in martial arts and sport.
Encourage fair play, integrity, respect, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for the rules and spirit of competition.
Provide athletes with access to appropriate coaching, training, competition, and performance-development opportunities.
Support athletes in pursuing appropriate provincial, national, and international competition pathways.
Create opportunities for fundraising to assist with eligible team expenses, including travel, accommodation, coaching, training, competition, and athlete development.
Build a positive community involving athletes, coaches, parents, volunteers, officials, and supporters.
Provide athletes with equitable opportunities to challenge themselves and pursue their individual competitive goals.
Represent CUSK and Canadian sport karate in a manner that reflects positively on the organization and the sport.
Membership
Membership is by Club Only
As this is our inaugural year, there is no 2027 club membership fee. Athletes must participate in Team Trials in Markham, Ontario and the North American Open in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
